Here in Tháo Diên a lot of HCMC’s expats have settled down in guarded compounds and segregation from the pulsating metropolis. 100 meters away, along the river, you’ll find crumbling, humble shacks with whole families living together in very confined spaces. I guess, end of the day - they are happier than their foreign neighbors living alone in vast palaces.
